I'm not doing it anymore

I have zero interest in figuring out Pinterest or Facebook as new traffic strategies.

and there is a reason for it that most other people are not talking about…

I am not new to the SEO game. I have been doing this since 2015 and full-time since 2018.

But one thing I have concentrated on since then has been more than just SEO.

My wife recently made fun of me because she asked me to look up something for her on Pinterest.

I logged in using my regular gmail account and I got a notice that my account had been banned.

I forgot my old Pinterest account had been banned. It’s been that way since about 2018, lol.

But it brought back up all the memories of getting multiple accounts straight up banned from Pinterest and having appeal after appeal denied.

And then there is Facebook.

I was around when Facebook destroyed the reach of facebook pages. I was getting tons of traffic from there and then… Zero.

I have no interest in learning Pinterest or Facebook traffic because I have been down both roads before and each time I was let down after having “some” success.

Honestly, Google SEO was the only traffic source that was insanely consistent. So I went all in on Google SEO.

I created courses, high-ticket trainings, membership sites, youtube channels, podcasts, the list goes on. All, pretty much, from Google SEO.

And just like the other traffic sources, SEO has betrayed me as well.

Before I go into what you should be doing, I want to remind you that I am working on a high DR site at the moment that came up just short of $200,000 in revenue this month (but there is still 2 more days). So, I’ll repeat it for the people in the back, Google SEO is not dead.

But it has changed.

It’s become a game of backlinks and authority first and content second.

That is not a bad thing because you can still grow from that… but what I am afraid of is getting betrayed again.

I used to be able to dump $10,000 in a new niche site and get back 100x the investment. I cannot confidently do that anymore… I’d rather dump it into another business or a broad index fund.

Google SEO has now officially become really hard for beginners. Experienced SEOs will figure it out and be fine.

So what to do now?

You absolutely need to insulate your business and the best way to do that is with an email list. It’s not 100% algo-free, but it’s pretty darn close.

So whether you decide to go down the path of Facebook and Pinterest, even though I won’t be joining you, you need to treat those sources as what they truly are, just a mere traffic source at the moment.

I am using Beehiiv at the moment and love every minute of it. I wish they take me on as ambassador because I scream from the rooftops about them and not getting paid outside of a few affiliate commissions.

Give Beehiiv a try; it’s free for up to 2500 subscribers. So it’s the way to go.
